Preparing a delicious cup of tea is simply a labor of love. The first step is to select the cup and the tea that you would love to taste. This is followed by adding enough water to the pot (anything but an aluminum pot or coated pot, will do), usually 1 rounded teaspoon of premium tea makes 1 to 4 strong cups of tea, depending on your taste, so fill the water according to your needs.

Next, bring the water to a gentle simmer, turning it off when the bubbles appear, then adding your loose tea or tea infuser/strainer to the pot.  It is important to NOT ADD TEA to BOILING WATER, as this will DESTROY the integrity of the HEALTH BENEFITS of the tea, so, if you leave the water on too long, turn it off and allow it to settle before adding your tea.

Finally, cover and let the tea steep for the desirable time. Usually, green teas are left to steep for 2 minutes, max, unless you prefer a smokey flavor, otherwise, white tea and black are best made within 3 minutes or for a stronger draw, longer if you desire.

When preparing tea for medicinal purposes, they can be steeped for up to or beyond 30 minutes, but only as directed, so once you realize what you desire to accomplish, steep as needed, strain and enjoy the amazing benefits of a healthy brew.

Whatever your intention, even if you have the right tea for the right purpose, be sure to be mindful of what you are using it for.

As a note, be careful how you think while preparing tea. Dr. Emoto, the scientist who explored the effects of thought and intention on water, teaches us that we have to be especially careful to maintain the highest intentions of peace, happiness and above all, love, when we do anything that is useful for nourishing ourselves and others. Any wayward thought could lead to an unknown disaster in your cup, affecting the inner being and unsettling our thoughts.
